I needed brakes, their coupon offer is $59 brake job. I was in there with two other ladies, all of us were there for brakes. Both ladies estimates were $300+. My estimate was $400, my ex spouse talked to them and got down to the heart of it and the cost was $105. Big difference in price. They bait and switch and scam females until the man gets involved. Not good!
My wife had a $59.99 coupon for brakes with a free oil change. Only the shoes in the back needed replaced. Later was asked if she wanted "premium" shoes and my wife said yes which turn out to be a big mistake! The price jumped to $184. There was a mix up with parts and long story short it took over 3hrs to do the job. It comes down to bad communication with the customer.
My tires were originally in tack before going to Calverts Express to have my car inspected. Shortly after leaving I noticed my back tire hubcap was missing on the passenger side. I went back the next day to inform them and to see if they had forgot to put it back on. Instead I received poor customer service, no offer to have it replaced when I know for a fact it was on securely prior to visiting the shop. Would not recommend anyone doing busonsss with Calverts as of today. It's not the tirehub cap that I am upset about, its the customer service. I was a loyal customer for years and have always been treated kindly up until this point. The new management is the worst. The only reason I am giving it one star is because it will not allow me to give a 0.
I went in this morning for an oil change and when I went back to pick up my car the receptionist handed us an estimate for other work the car needs done. No pressure, just handed it to us. I asked a question and the mechanic came right in and gave us some really great advice on the most cost efficient way to get the repairs done simultaneously. Again, no pressure just good clear information. FIRST TIME EVER I've experienced such awesome customer service at an auto repair shop. :)
The day before visiting this auto shop, I was quoted $140 for new brake pads, resurfacing my rotors, and preforming a brake fluid flush. The next day I went in for my scheduled appointment, and the price drastically jumped. They claimed my brakes were at 1% (virtually no sound comes from the brakes while driving, I just noticed my stopping power had decreased over time and thought it would be best to change). They then stated the rotors were too warped to resurface, and that my rear drums needed to be COMPLETELY replaced...after all was said and done, they wanted $538...all the manager had to say about the whole situation was "We have the best prices in town, we order in bulk and get everything cheaper than the part stores." Not to mention, the establishment was sub par. Trash can was overflowing and the coffee was several hours old and cold. Overall terrible experience, and I will never be returning.
