Had an emergency diabetic reaction and had to have surgery the next morning my wife had taken me there. It took a team of doctors on a Saturday morning to remove all the skin that had died and almost in my organs. Was told I was with in eight hours of dying. Spent three weeks in the hospital.
He is alive today because of all of you.
Special thanks to:
By far the most compassionate, caring, professional hospital I have ever visited. My husband who is from Miami, Fl had an emergency while working, he was rushed to St. Mary's Med. Center, where he was cared for in the ED, ICU and 2nd floor.
Dr. Blick (cardio), The Cath Lab (Tina and the girls) Christy, Jeff and Lindsey (ICU) and all the other staff members whom helped us during our stay at St. Mary's Med Center.
Brian
I was on all three floors as well as in the ER. If anybody has knowledge of this hospital I do. Once the pain medicine started wearing off (3 days) before I knew who I was and where I was the staff was the most professional people I ever met. I had to deal with probably give doctors everyday as well as the nurses and the room cleaners. Every person I dealt with had nothing but smiles. My wife had nothing but great things to say about them while I was under medication.
The billing department is staffed with the most incompentent people I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. I have had to make multiple trips with proof from my bank that payments were made and the bill paid. Each time I was assured the problem would be corrected. Each time it was not. The words incompentent, stupid, careless and unprofessional come to mind.
The entire staff during our stay were always attentive, helpful, caring and eager to ensure we were comfortable at all times.
God bless every person that helped with my care.
I've been in other hospitals and they don't treat you like a human being. Saint Mary's did.
My pulse was a little high after PT, the doctor didn’t like it and wanted me to be admitted to the hospital so that I could have stress tests done. I had EKGs done prior to the surgery, no problems. I had to fight like hell to get him to release me. This isn’t he first time that a doctor at this hospital has tried to convince me that I needed stress tests done. Ugh, what a nightmare!!
The lab is awful. They do not go by protocol. The lab lady wore 1 glove and after she disinfected my husband's arm she touched where she cleaned with her bare hand, and before I could stop her she stuck him. Not clean. She didn't even wash her hands prior. I am very upset. Hopefully she doesn't do that to someone and give them a serious infection.
I appreciate this facility and their dedication to making a change.
The rooms were cleaned everyday, the bathrooms scrubbed, and fresh supplies were brought in bye the nurses. I felt like I was in a hotel. Every time i buzzed a nurse they responded within minutes. One night we had a tornado warning and I couldn't be moved and a nurse stayed with me till the sirens stopped.
I had a total knee replacement surgery on Oct. 5th and was moved to the Joint and Spine Institute for post surgery treatment. It was the worst experience of my life!! I’m sorry if my needing help with just about everything was an inconvenience to you, but that was YOUR JOB!! I was discharged on Oct. 7th without ever given a shower or helped to the bathroom. I have no idea what it’s like to stay in the hospital overnight, but the institute was absolutely horrible!
They helped save his life and for that we were blessed. We are so grateful, thank you all!
